Failure or Our PERCEPTION of failure
Perception and expectations set the benchmarks for determining our success or failure. If the expectations others have for us are met, have we succeeded? If we don’t meet them are we a failure/have we failed? Or is it from the depths of our own expectations that resonate as being a success or failure.
Expectations arise when we place self-imposed (or from others) beliefs on how we should/could/must/mustn’t/have to, in a situation/role/relationship. What if all that is required to SUCCEED is to do the best you can in any given moment with the knowledge and capabilities you hold at that time. Isn’t that success? Where is the failure in doing the best you can in the moment?
How do you continue to succeed you ask? By opening yourself up to receiving the insights and lesson from being in the moment gives and integrating what you learnt from that moment, your knowledge and capabilities grow and evolve. Implement the new knowledge, strategies or behaviours when faced with a similar situation/role/relationship and in doing so, you are again doing the best you can. SUCCESS!
Acknowledge that in each and every moment, if you strive to do the best you can with the skills, knowledge and capabilities you hold in the moment and apply them from a loving place there is no failure only SUCCESS.
